秋季研修の２日目は、APUの「グリーンコモンズ」と呼ばれる木材の香り豊かな新棟で、留学生と一緒に「万博で持続可能なリサイクルを企画する」というテーマでプレゼンを行いました。
興奮も冷めやらぬまま、APUに別れを告げ今度は徳山へ移動します。今回の研修のもう一つの目的でもある平和学習を、山口県の大津島で行うためです。
バスと新幹線で別府から徳山駅まで戻り、船で大津島へ。全員がデッキに集まり、30分の船旅を楽しみました。
島ならではのゆったりとした時間に、スポーツをしたり、地域の猫と遊んだり、思い思いの自由時間を満喫します。夕食のあとは、回天記念館へ。特別に館を開けていただき、太平洋戦争の末期に開発された人間魚雷回天の元搭乗員による証言映像や展示品を見学しました。事前学習として、回天記念館・周南市役所から提供していただいていた資料とも関連させて、体系的に見ることができたようです。
明日はいよいよ最終日。最後まで良い緊張感を持って、地域を学ぶ機会になればと思います。

On the second day,　students gave presentations with international students on the theme 'Planning sustainable recycling at Expo" in APU's "Green Commons" building.
Then, we said goodbye to APU and moved on to Tokuyama. The another purpose of the trip was to conduct a peace study in Otsushima, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
We took the bus and Shinkansen back to Tokuyama Station from Beppu and took a boat to Otsushima. We all gathered on deck and enjoyed the 30-minute boat trip.
Some enjoyed their free time to do sports, playing with the local cats in the relaxing time in island. After dinner, we visited the Kaiten Memorial Hall. The museum was specially opened to us and we watched a video testimony by former crew members
of the Kaiten, human torpedo developed at the end of the Pacific War, and viewed the exhibits. Students were able to see the exhibits systematically in relation to the materials provided by the Kaiten Memorial Museum and the Shunan City Hall as part of their prior learning.
It will be the last day of the tour tomorrow. We hope that students will have the opportunity to learn about the region and importance of our lives through this experience.
